Roles and phases, in plain terms
The role tells you what a character does. The phase tells you where she is strong or exposed.
The four roles
Preservation (Tank)
Holds the frontline with shields, damage reduction, or damage redirection.
Destruction (Debuff)
Applies Poison, Burn, or other status effects and turns them into damage.
Healing Grace (Support)
Heals, revives, and adds team-wide defensive or offensive buffs.
Frenzied Blade (DPS)
Deals direct damage through crits, follow-ups, or single-target pressure.
The phase cycle
Water beats Fire, Fire beats Wind, Wind beats Earth, and Earth beats Water. Radiant Star has no countered element.
What each tier means
The letters are shorthand. The headline is the part that matters.
Account-defining
Two units change how a new account plays. Build around them if you pull one.
Top of the roster
Strong carries and defensive anchors. Most serious teams start here.
Clear role players
Strong when the team supports what they do, average when it does not.
Archetype specialists
Good inside Burn, Poison, Fracture, or a defensive plan. Ordinary outside it.
Early fillers
Use them to cover a gap in the first week, then replace them when you can.
Low priority
Weak numbers or no clear job. Invest only while the roster is thin.
Character questions
How many characters are in Girls Echo?
The global build has 57 characters, split across six tiers. The roster will grow with new releases, and this page is updated when a new character is added.
What do the four roles mean?
Preservation holds the frontline. Destruction applies Poison, Burn, and other debuffs. Healing Grace heals and revives. Frenzied Blade deals direct damage. A team usually needs one Preservation, one Healing Grace, and three damage or support slots.
What are phases in Girls Echo?
Fire, Water, Wind, and Earth form a cycle: Water beats Fire, Fire beats Wind, Wind beats Earth, and Earth beats Water. Radiant Star has no countered element and fits any matchup.
Does the tier list use rarity?
No. The list ranks practical team value, not the summon grade on the card. A lower-rarity character with duplicates can be more useful than a higher-rarity character with no copies.
